Job Description:
Description The Underwriting Assistant is responsible for
supporting the underwriting process within the Accident and Health
(A&H) group. This position is accountable for collaborating
with underwriters to achieve growth, profit, renewal retention and
service objectives for a specific book of business. The
Underwriting Assistant will prepare renewal information for review
by the underwriter and translate data into policy registration and
issuance instructions or at times performing data entry tasks.
Working closely with operations and underwriting leadership the
Underwriting Assistant will ensure the achievement of contract
certainty, premium registration and underwriting file upload
objectives. • Contributing to achievement of Region, Profit
Center(s) and corporate goals relating to profit, renewal
retention, rate, exposure, customer service and producer/client
relations. • Processing renewals within underwriting criteria &
guidelines • Booking monthly reported arrears policy premium as
well as analyzing reports for accuracy. • Completing endorsement
reviews. • Ensuring proper form attachment (E.G. privacy notices,
State specific forms, ERISA, etc). • Researching and resolving all
premium discrepancies. • Handling ERISA/ 5500 regulatory
processing. Includes data collection accuracy and discrepancy
reconciliation. • Maintaining accurate records and processes for
group mailboxes and shared drives (including protected drive
files). • Handling invoicing / check requests while maintaining
sufficient expense coding knowledge to process standard requests. •
Maintaining top level customer service for 1-800 telephone support.
• Assisting other Team members as needed and/or in their absence. •
Providing input and achieving all Business Goals and Objectives.
Qualifications • Demonstrates technical expertise and insurance
product specific knowledge. • Strong interpersonal, communication,
teamwork, and analytical skills. • Exceptional customer focus and
‘once and done’ service support. • Able to deal with ambiguity and
change in work environment and processes. • Adept at
building/enhancing relationships and service delivery. • Ability to
effectively interact with all levels of internal and external
business partners. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Education
and Experience: • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or
equivalent work experience • Customer service/insurance experience
a plus The pay range for the role is $ 43,700 to $74,200. The
specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other
factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a
discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a

adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the
location in which the position is filled.
