and your work is recognized.Primary Purpose: The Accountant will
perform monthly financial close activities as well as day-to-day
Retail Accounting. It will provide support and collaborate with
cross functional teams including Loss Prevention, Store Operations,
Sales Audit and Treasury. Position Summary:The role of the Retail
Accountant is Responsible for:
- Performing various monthly financial close activities including
posting journal entries and preparing account reconciliations to
drive the closing process and ensuring Tapestry's deadlines are
met
- Reconciling of cash and credit card transactions in
Trintech
- Prepare, analyze, and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts
and investigate unusual items
- Provide store support and solutions to issues
- Prepare monthly reporting, including chargeback, tender and
over/short analysis
- Investigate cash deposit overages/shortages. Ensure incident
reports are filed and communicated to Loss Prevention.
- Ensure retail sales and payments are applied accurately in the
general ledgerPrepare all internal and external auditor's
requestSpecial projects and ad hoc reporting as requested from
managementSkills and Qualification: The successful candidate should
possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting 1-3
years of Public or Private accounting experience
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting and SOX controls
- ERP software experience (SAP software experience
preferred)Knowledge of Trintech and Blackline is a plusStrong
written and verbal communication skillsTeam player who works
extremely well in a collaborative environmentAttention to detail
and able to work independentlyAbility to multi task with strong
organizational skills
