Job Description:
Barclays Services Corp. seeks Software Developer, AVP in
Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available): Develop and modify
computer applications for Barclays’ SRE Delivery team within the
Credits team. Support the delivery of functional software to
production through the software development lifecycle utilizing
development tools such as Java, Python and C++. Participate in the
prioritization of solution improvements to meet the primary
objective of availability of applications. Utilize embed site
reliability engineering principles into the delivery lifecycle.
Responsible for the delivery execution of technology initiatives
such as Cloud Migration, Agile Adoption, DevOps, Micro-services,
APIs, Enhanced Resilience Technology resilience and Cyber;
responsible for the delivery of the end-to-end solution within the
SRE Delivery team. Responsible for providing accurate, transparent,
and timely reporting to GTSM. Review Change Records, Technical
Implementation Plan s and Release Documentation, providing feedback
on improvements to the approaches where applicable. Design Proof of
Concepts for automation tools and be part of architectural
decisions to offer reliable, stable, scalable, and better user
experience to the Support and Traders. Design and implement
monitoring solutions, focusing on proactive issues and problems
detection and prevention. Act as a Credit business Analyst &
Monitoring SME to provide advise and guidance to other cross
functional teams such as Rates and FX under Markets division.
Accountable for individual or team or department results, and for
the impact of the results on functional activities. Participates in
overall departmental program planning. Analyze, review and assign
projects and tasks to the team members, interns and new graduates
in the team. Collaborate with senior leadership to align monitoring
needs and strategies with business objectives. Plan and implement
regular BAU and maintenance activities. May telecommute. Purpose of
the role To design, develop and improve software, utilising various
engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and
technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities Development and delivery of high-quality software
solutions by using industry aligned programming languages,
frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable,
maintainable, and optimized for performance. Cross-functional
collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers
to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and
ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote
a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. Stay informed of
industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute
to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of
technical excellence and growth. Adherence to secure coding
practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and
ensure secure software solutions. Implementation of effective unit
testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and
reliability. Assistant Vice President Expectations To advise and
