Job Description:

Pawtanicals is looking to hire reliable, dog-loving candidate(s) for the job: Dog Washer/Grooming assistant.

Pawtanicals is a dog spa that offers self-service and other grooming services. We cater to specific clientele that does not need hair cuts or styling of hair. We are looking for the right candidate to help us.

Operating hours are Wednesday - Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. We are closed on all major holidays.

Experience is a plus but NOT necessary. We are willing to train in all aspects of the job.

*Responsibilities*

The ideal candidate(s) will be assigned to the following tasks. They are broken down into sections. It's important to note that the ideal candidate will foster relationships with customers and their pets, thus it's important to note that customer service is KEY for this position.

Washing:

* follow take-in protocols for dog's appointment
* effectively communicate with owner of service being done to dog and modifying/ updating services in booking software
* prepare bathing station with all equipment and tools needed to perform the bath
* escort dogs into the bath tub and securely tie dog with grooming loop
* perform basic or de-matting brushing and then bath time
* towel dry/ blow dry dog and perform other grooming services (i.e., trimming nails, ear/eye cleaning, etc)
* other tasks as they come up

Reception/Appointment Taking:

* manage front desk by answering phone calls, handle walk-ins, and savvy scheduling skills for appointments
* maintain a clean front area/reception
* other tasks as assigned

Maintenance:

* follow and perform cleaning protocols for tubs, tools, & equipment
* follow and perform cleaning protocols for the salon & other tasks as needed

*Requirements*

* commit 6 months to 1 year in position
* must have a reliable mode of transportation
* eager to learn about pet industry and further their professional growth
* reliable and punctual
* sincere and genuine interest in pet's individual needs
* ability to lift dogs that weigh up to 50 lbs
* calming presence
* ability to stand for long periods of time
* must be comfortable interacting with different breeds, sizes, and temperamental dogs
* comfortable working in a wet and noisy environment
* team-player willing to take initiative on different tasks
* MUST LOVE DOGS AND CATS

Please note: All candidates must have flexibility in days available to work whether part or full time. In a part time role ample amount of time must be provided for time-off during the weekends.

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
