Hygienists include, but are not limited to:Provide a full range of
dental hygiene services, including cleanings (prophylaxis), scaling
and root planing, and the application of fluoride and
sealantsDetect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling
and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal
disease and to assess levels of recessionEvaluate each patients
oral health to determine and select the appropriate tools,
materials, and techniques for their hygiene visitEducate patients
on proper oral hygiene techniques, plaque control, and
post-treatment care to support long-term oral healthAccurately
document medical and dental histories, vital signs, and treatment
details in patient recordsPreparation of treatment rooms, ensuring
all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and ready for
useBreak down and disinfect operatories post-treatment, returning
instruments promptly for sterilizationCapture diagnostic x-rays (as
needed) in line with ADA recommendations and clinical
protocolsRequirements:Exceptional customer service skills with a
warm, empathetic, and energetic approach to patient careExcellent
communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to follow clinical
protocols and office policies consistentlyPossess a professional
and positive attitudeAssociates degree from an accredited dental
hygiene programActive Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in
the state of ConnecticutActive Professional Liability
InsuranceActive Basic Life Support Certification (or willingness to
