network.Position Summary:
The Regional Director will lead the strategic and operational
execution of the Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute (COI) across the
Central Region, helping it to become one of the nation's leading
Institutes for excellence and quality. The Regional Director is
accountable for service line integration, operational efficiency,
and financial performance while ensuring the highest standard of
patient care and clinical excellence. The Regional Director will
emphasize collaboration with medical and administrative leadership
to drive orthopaedic service growth, fiscal responsibility, improve
outcomes, and deliver a seamless patient experience.Key
Accountabilities:
- Supports the vision of COI through collaboration with all
participating surgical subspecialties, including orthopaedics,
neurosurgery, and podiatry. Establishes a unique identity of the
Institute in the local and national market by creating meaningful
opportunities for physician engagement and involvement in the
design and execution of services
- Develops sustainability and growth strategies based on future
market and orthopaedic landscape predictions. Helps recruit and
retain the finest healthcare workforce and fosters a strong working
relationship with physicians and private practice stakeholders
- Strong advocate for Institute colleagues and fosters a positive
and inclusive work environment. Establishes and sustains
appropriate governance of the Institute to ensure strategic,
programmatic, and operational planning. Scales operational and
program best practices across multiple sites, helping ensure one
standard of care
- Responsible for the successful execution of all operations
throughout the continuum of the surgical episode within the
Institute's Central Region locations. Helps standardize processes,
policies, and care pathways to optimize patient flow and resource
utilization. Leverages resources to mitigate transfers out of the
region and facilitate acceptance of appropriate transfers into the
region
- Identifies and implements data-driven performance improvement
initiatives to enhance quality, safety, efficiency, fiscal
responsibility, patient experience, colleague experience, and
physician experience
- Seeks opportunities to optimize OR block utilization rate and
access to the respective ORs. Works collaboratively with
perioperative leadership to enhance pertinent KPIs, including but
not limited to first case on-time starts, turnover time, surgical
site infections, etc.
- Oversees the Institute's revenue and expense budget planning
process, preparation, submission, and performance. Assists in the
development of business development plans and ensures targets are
achieved or exceeded. Identifies opportunities, develops
strategies, and executes on annual sustainable excellence and
expense management initiatives. In collaboration with regional
stakeholders, collates and prioritizes the annual capital request
list
- Assists in the development of marketing, community education,
and public relations strategies inclusive of a website, Continuing
Medical Education (CME) programs, and multimedia to effectively
expand recognition and profile regionally and nationally. Works
collaboratively with the marketing and senior leadership of COI in
creating a market position strategy and a long-range marketing
plan. Works with marketing to ensure media coverage of specialty
events/topics of interest and strategy
- In collaboration with the Regional Director of Orthopaedic
Quality and Safety, partners with service line administrators,
nursing leadership and support services to establish standards of
consistency in the quality of all services. Ensures compliance and
ongoing regulatory readiness for any site and/or programmatic
review as applicable to the Institute
- Establishes a framework for always ensuring compliance through
organized rounds and periodic inspections
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science is required
- Ten plus years of clinical experience
- Five plus years of progressive leadership experience
- Current license in good standing to practice as a RN, PT, OT,
or APP in the State of Connecticut
- Highly effective analytical, organizational, and
problem-solving skills
- Visible leader with excellent interpersonal communication
skills who relates well with all levels of the organization
- A creative, forward-thinking leader with the proven ability to
engage, coach and mentor direct reports, colleagues and other key
stakeholders
- Ability to develop and lead programs that align with the
