Job Description Job Description HVAC Service Tech As an HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential homes. Your role will ensure systems run efficiently and comply with local building codes and safety standards. Responsibilities Install new HVAC systems and equipment in homes. Perform routine checks and maintenance on HVAC systems. Diagnose and repair issues with HVAC systems, including emergency repairs. Communicate with homeowners to explain issues, provide maintenance tips, and offer energy-saving advice. Ensure all work meets local building codes and safety standards. Essential Skills Technical knowledge of HVAC systems. Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Good customer service and communication skills. Physical stamina and manual dexterity. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Completion of an approved HVAC apprenticeship program is often required. 1-5 years of proven work experience as an HVAC technician. EPA certification for handling refrigerants. NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is beneficial. Valid driver's license. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, starting at 7 am, with some weekend work and overtime required. The physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and exposure to various weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and occasionally loud noise levels. Safety is a priority, with all employees expected to follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, and report unsafe conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Piscataway, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
